Chargers conquered KKR by throat
The fourth match of IPL on the eve of 20th was purely one sided. A year of charge let our Deccan boys show the skill that was far from the imagination of any viewer preoccupied by its last season show. Well, well, well if you say you did not watch it; just get into the deeper side of this column to realize what you have missed. When we glance through the match, the noticeable action was seen from the first ball of the match by Fidel Edwards (4 overs, 1 maiden, 6 runs, 0 wickets) alerting McCullum, followed by Gayle’s glare at his Fidel. The second over of R.P. (3.4 overs, 0 maidens, 22 runs, 4 wickets) started with the wicket of Knight riders skipper going on to a four wicket haul. The second over of Edwards displayed Dada’s dance to his tunes, frustrated Dada who was expected to speak by his willow did not show any skill as Edwards lucidly showed he can’t play bounce.
The big fish Gayle rebelled at R.P. by slamming a four followed by a six, hope he had planned an assault but deceived by a field change donating his wicket. Thus proving controlled aggression is vital in IPL for visible innings. The Pragyan’s spell of 2 / 14, where both the wickets the action of a flamboyant spin associated with Gilly’s good work at stumps. The KKR who were 2 / 29 at 10 overs pulled up to 101 by Brad’s (31 runs) sole fight spooned by Karthik and Ishant to some extent. Few other enjoyable instances were the sequel catches of Gibbs and Rohit followed by a stupendous run out by Rohit was a must watch.
The Deccan’s innings was a smooth one losing Gilly and Laxman along with Gibbs’s stylish batting and Rohit’s orthodox classic straight sixes led to a lustrous victory proving chargers are now ready to pull out to IPL finals. The other critically noticeable factors were the discipline in bowling according to the field where only 3 fielders on the on side thereby strengthening off side with players like Styris at gully, Gibbs at point, Rohit at mid wicket, Laxman at slip, R. P. and Fidel at third man and Harmeet at Long off. The bowling was stuck to off stump frustrating batsman to go for it and give wickets without scoring.R.P.Singh was declared man of the match for his four wickets.
