Chennai charge while Chargers crumble
Chennai Super Kings were incredible in the last couple of games winning each one of them. Chennai were back in form after a disappointing show in the first week of IPL-2. The match started at 8 o clock sharp (IST). Chennai opened their innings with Hayden and Vijay Murali. Both of them were terrific, gave Chennai a fantabulous start, hitting the ball all over the park. Hayden gave away his wicket when score was 65 after 6.5 overs. Later came Dhoni after Hayden, repeated the same performance as of Hayden but stayed unbeatable till the end of the innings. Mean while Murali also gave away his wicket to Shoaib when the score was 99 for 2 in 12 overs. Raina, who almost hit a century the other night replaced Murali and scored a quick 32 of jus 19 balls and threw away his wicket to RP Singh in the 18th over. Morkel came to the crease, didn’t have too much time to play innings, Final score was 178 for the fall 3 wickets in 20 overs.
Later, Chargers, who lost the last couple of games, not in a good frame of mind after a terrible bowling performance, “no more Edwards” was the difference in the bowling attack RP Singh did not have support from the other end. Shoaib was the only bowler who was economical, gave away only 14 runs in two overs taking the most devastating Hayden’s wicket. Chargers opened their innings with Gilly and Gibbs, but they gave the terrible start ever in IPL history, Gilly was caught leg before the wicket in the very first ball. In the very next over Gibbs was bowled inside edge onto the wickets score was 1 for two. Laxman could stay at the crease for more than an over faced seven balls and gave away his wicket, by hitting a silly flick. Score 1 for three then came smith and Rohit Sharma, counter attacked Chennai Super Kings and in the next six overs by hitting 70 runs, In the ninth over when the score was 73 for 3 Sharma gave his wicket and like a double header Smith also gave away his wicket in the same over to Jakati. Later Suman came and tried to control the innings but it was too late and too tougher ask and was dismissed by Muralitharan. Tail Enders could hang around for only 25 more runs and were all out for 100 runs. Deccan Chargers after a promising start to the IPL are kind of losing their way towards the crucial match.
Deccan chargers were top of the table till yesterday, but now are second, Chennai leading the chart. Edwards leaving the team indefinitely made the difference. Hopefully, they charge back in the next couple of matches. Chennai Super Kings even after losing the first few matches top the table.
