csklogoChennai Super Kings is owned by N. Srinivasan, who is the secretary of BCCI, CEO of India Cements. He bought the team for $ 91 million for the next 10 years. I guess most of it was earned back, by having Pepsi, Aircel, Reebok as sponsors, and when they reached the finals of IPL. Vijay is the brand ambassador of the team, At one point of time even Nayanatara was also considered as co-ambassador of the team, but was later fired, Since she was not meeting the requirements of the team to show up for the press conferences.

Chennai super kings have the odds in favour them, this time around because they have the luckiest captain in the history of Indian cricket of course after Ganguly. Moreover, They have fredy, Flintoff( $ 1550000) who is one among the highest bid players till date beating Dhoni ($1500000). Fredy was supposedly not fit, but according to sources from Cric Republic, he is fit and will be playing IPL-2 in South Africa. Chennai super kings also have Aussies in their armory, the former devastating Australian opener Mathew Hayden, Stiff middle order batsmen Hussey and young and professional George Bailey.

Chennai super kings, the finalist of IPL, who lost the final to Rajasthan royals by a whisker, would definitely not like to loose IPL-2.

Let’s start with batting.

Chennai super kings have a strong batting line up, opening with

Mathew Hayden, (AUS) – former Australian opener

Suresh Raina (IND) – the Indian middle order batsman, can play a key role while chasing.

Hussey (AUS) – the Australian middle order batsmen, who can play a quick innings

Badrinath (IND) – who plays for Tamil Nadu

BAILEY (AUS) - New pick by Chennai super kings

Karthik (IND) & Vidyuth (IND) - both of them are good

Murali Vijay (IND)- New pick

Coming to the bowlers

Muralitharan (SRI) – the highest wicket taker in the cricket history

Jogender Sharma (IND) – remember, who made India won t-20 world cup final.

Ntini (RSA) – who will have the home ground advantage.

Thusara (SRI) – bowler.

L Balaji (IND) – One of the popular bowlers, who is back again after the long injury break.

Gony (IND) – the new found fast bowler in IPL-2008.

Tyagi (IND) – who was injured the previous season, looking to perform this time around.

Now the All Rounders

Jacob Oram- The New Zealand all rounder, who did his bit the last time, will expect the same in IPL-2

Andrew Flintoff- The highest bid in IPL history beating Dhoni.

Albie Morkel- the fierce all rounder.

csk teamIn addition to the above players, Chennai super kings have the luckiest captain DHONI, which makes the team complete. Dhoni has lot of choice to vary his team. He can use Ntini, for the home ground advantage. He can also rest himself as a keeper, instead using partiv Patel. Chennai super kings has every thing in place, they have all the important players with them, they have Venkatesh Prasad as bowling coach; have Stephen Fleming as the main coach, yeah the New Zealander who was better known for his strategies as captain. So, having all the batsman, bowlers, coaches, keepers I do not find any reasons for not winning IPL-2 at least on the paper. The first match is on April 18 against Mumbai Indians, in Cape Town.
