The defending champion Rajastan Royals were knocked out of IPL by Kolkata Knight Riders. The Royals playing for their semi final slot were beaten by Kolkata team playing for the pride.KKR with this win take along with Rajastan Royals for the return trip.

Winning the toss KKR’s Brendon Mccullum elected to field first taking a cue from the recent matches which they lost bowling second.Starting the innings of RR ,Naman ojha got off to a flyer with 22 runs scored of the first over by Hodge. Langeveldt struck in his first ball, he banged it in short and Quiney tried to hook him but got a thick top edge and the keeper joged to his right and took a sitter.Except for the first over Royals had not a single good over in the innings and kept loosing wickets at regular intervals and could manage only 101  for 9.Yet again RR’s batting failed and running between the wickets was poor Ravidhra Jadeja was involved in two run outs including that of crucial Yusuf Patan. This time surprisingly Grame Simth was dropped out the team despite his only good knock in IPL 2 coming at this very ground.

KKR chasing a very small total was not very comfortable either ,their top order failed miserably. It was Laxmi Ratan Shukla in the end who helped KKR sail across with his sensible batting for 48 runs. The pick of the bowlers for KKR was Langeveldt with  3-15 of 4 overs.RR bowlers tried hard but the total on board was never enough .After the humiliation upfront KKR won their last 2 matches.

Player of the match Laxmi Ratan Shukla (Kolkata Knight Riders).
