Player on Spotlight: Virender Sehwag
The team Delhi Daredevils owned by GMR Holdings Pvt. Ltd. based in delhi is one of the eight teams featuring in IPL-2. Semi Finalists in last years edition of IPL the team would like to repeat its performance this year also. The team is lead by the aggressive Virender Sehwag who is also the mainstay of their batting.
Last year the team was largely dependent on the top order consisting of Sehwag, Gambhir and Shikar Dhawan, for scoring their runs. The middle order was like a cake walk for the opponents. To strengthen this area the team successfully bid for the england middle order batsman Paul Collingwood. With Dilshan also in their ranks the batting has a settled look.
The bowling department still largely depends on the old warhorse from Australia “Glen McGrath”. Giving him company are Daniel Vettori, Ashish Nehra, Amit Mishra, and all rounder Farvez Mahroof. Bowling can be tough task in T20 games, but given the misery in economy per over of McGrath and Vettori the team is a good bowling unit if not excellent. The wicket keeping is donned by reliable Dinesh Karthik.
In News: The team was in the news last year for alleged drug scandal on Mohammed Asif.
Verdict:
The team has everything in it to be the champion. As long as sehwag-gambhir pair is at the wicket no target seems unachievable. The team is expected to figure in the last four this season also.

Hello ..
first look, i stumbled onto the delhi daredevils, just by their kit looks.what i see in team and what i read down.. i feel that McGrath is some how missing in team line up. the bowling department still lacks the bite. Mcgrath and vettori doesnt bown in tandem. they bowl at different stages. so even if they go for lower economy, the team lacks wicket takers at the other end. the likes of Jayasurya, sangakkara, gilly to name a few, may not spare other bowlers on their day. The team looks good to chase than to set a target, given their batting lineup. Expecting Viru to play his cards cleverly, It will be interesting to see their middle order composition on the day of match.
