Duminy spills the Cobra venom on RCB

Duminy scored a marvelous 99 to secure a convincing victory for the Cape Cobras in the opening encounter of CLT20 against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Duminy made the 180 run chase an easy looking affair with some clean hitting and meticulous planning. It was sheer hitting as he eclipsed every other batsmen, though Davids, Ontong and Canning chipped in with valuable support. All the bowlers of RCB barring Praveen Kumar were costly. Kumble and Van Der Merve leaked runs at the crucial stage of the match. Vinay Kumar and Kohli were completely out of sorts. Dale Steyn was sorely missed.
Earlier RCB managed a competitive total thanks to Utthapa and Ross Taylor who scored contrasting fifties. Uthappa along with Dravid and a bit of luck added 64 for the second wicket. Late surge of Ross Taylor by shuffling across wicket and lofting over legside for sixes took RCB to 180. Ross Taylor in all hit four sixes and four fours. Langeveldt was the pick of the bowlers for Cobras, but was unfortunate to get injured mid way of the innings while attempting a diving catch. All others were erring in line and were equally let down by some poor fielding. All in all it was a great beginning to the Champions League.
