India starts with win, Bangladesh impresses with spirit !!!

India started of the world cup with a thumping win over hosts Bangladesh. Batting first Sehwag(175) threatened to break Sachin’s record for highest score, but as always uncertainty and sehwag are synonymous.  Giving him company was “The New Indian Wall” Kohli with a brilliant hundred. Together they shared a 203 run partnership. India scored a massive 370 for Bangladesh to chase down.

Bangladesh started positively reaching 50 in no time. Sreesanth was singled out for special treatment as Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes showed their aggressive intents. But they lost crucial wickets at important times which crippled the chase. 370 was always a dificult target, but Bangladeshi approach was pretty impressive. This was the same side which found it difficult to last for 50 overs a few years ago. But no more, it is now a bunch of young fighters lead by warrior in Shakib-al-Hasan who play with pride for their nation. Their grit and determination took them to a respectable 283.

India had a good practice session today, and Bangladesh would take inspiration from their batting performance. All in all a good start to the world cup festival.
