Injured Sehwag back to India!
Virender Sehwag, the Indian vice-captain is heading back home after confirmed reports that he had a muscle tear in his right shoulder. Speaking to reporters Dhoni replied very caustiously and very little. He said “Whatever related to fitness, you will get it from the BCCI“, and was not willing to tell anything about the status and nature of injury. He was not even ready to disclose whether Sehwag was heading back home or not. Within no time BCCI announced that Sehwag was indeed ruled out of the tournament and would be heading back home after consultations with the doctors there. Gary Kirsten said “Viru is one of our main batsmen, so not having him around is a blow“.
Dhoni’s circumspect response had few reporters in shock while others were in giggles over the possible rift which surfaced last week (http://www.cricrepublic.com/are-dhoni-and-sehwag-in-a-cold-war/). Fellow Delhi Daredevils team mate Dinesh Karthik has been announced as the replacement for Sehwag. Dinesh Karthik would provide much needed backup to Dhoni-the Wicket Keeper. Rohit Sharma would probably continue opening the innings with Gambhir. Sharma has done exceptionally well in his last 3 outings.
