McCullum dethrones Ganguly

Finally, the time has come when ganguly again finds himself in a situation he is familiar with. He has been stripped of his captaincy by the coach “Buchanan” and the new skipper for at least next few matches would be the New Zealand Wicket Keeper Bredon McCullam. Clearly, there seems to be utter confusion and chaos prevailing in the current Kolkata Knight Riders team. This is the worst that could have happened or probably is this the death blow to the team.

Ganguly was so disappointed with the developments that he said, “Tomorrow I can ask for four different coaches”. Clearly everything is not as simple and fair as it seems. Though the idea of multiple captains invoked the ire of wily and wise in cricket, the KKR still persisting with the formula is quite a surprise. The teams pace sensation Ishant Sharma quoted “I think there should be just one captain. I don’t know how having four captains will work”.

A player gets up in the morning and asks the coach, “Who is my captain for today’s match?”. How ridiculous question could that be, but probably that’s what would be the talk in the pavilion of KKR. This is no Football, its “cricket” and these Australian coaches need to realize this. It’s the captain who is the boss of the team not the coach. And among the war of authority, “Dada” has always been the victim of so called innovative yet pathetic ideas.

It is up to the owner of the team, Shahrukh Khan to choose between Ganguly and Buchanan. He has been lucky that the IPL has been shifted to South Africa. He did not have to face the anger of the Kolkata cricket fan. There cannot be two sailors for a sinking boat. The sooner they realize this, the better it would be.
