Mumbai Secures a Crucial Win over BRC…
Mumbai Indians won the toss and chose to bat.

Ajinkya Rahane
The explosive openers started the innings for Mumbai but Challengers gave an early shock to them. Tendulkar was caught by Boucher in the bowling of Vinay in the second over for a duck. Kallis at the other end gave good support to Vinay Kumar, but veteran batsmen Jayasuriya and young Rahane built a decent partnership for the second wicket.

JP Duminy
But when things were just settling for them, Jayasuriya was caught leg before to Van Der Merwe. At the end of 10 overs they managed to score 67 runs for the loss of 2 crucial wickets. JP Duminy and Rahane started the attack back on Challengers; both batsmen scored their half centuries and built a 100 run stand for the 3rd wicket of just 70 balls. This helped them to score above 150. No other bowler for Challengers looked comfortable in bowling. Mumbai managed the score of 157 for the loss of 2 wickets in 20 overs.
The Royal Challengers had a good target to chase; they started of with Kallis and Kohli but were
not successful. Dhawal Kulkarni and Malinga bowled exceptionally without giving Challengers any chances. Bravo struck early, picking Kallis who gave a simple catch to third man. No other batsmen looked comfortable at the crease, Utthapa continued his style of foolish shots and maintained his form. Taylor and Kohli chipped in with scores 16 & 20 respectively. The score was just 58 for 4 in 10 overs. The Wall had immense duty on his shoulders of rescuing his team but got run out for just 10. The Mumbai bowlers performed very well with their steady line and length. Boucher scored a brisk 48 who gave Challengers a hope but was too late. They got restricted to 141 which was a win for Mumbai by 16 runs.
Man of the Match: JP Duminy.
Mumbai Indians moved up to 6th position in points table while Bangalore Royal Challengers dropped to 7th.
