Pakistan moves into super eight, Australia miss out.

Shahid Afridi
Pakistan completed a clinical whitewash of the fantasy team Netherlands. Pakistan won the match by 82 runs good enough to reserve its place in super eight. Netherlands, which affected biggest upset of T20 world cup, lost the toss and was forced to field. The bowling was sprited one but it was undone by some slog hitting by Kamran Akmal. Following him Shoaib, Younis and Misbah also played some handy contributions. Though Pakistan managed to score 175, the spirit of the Dutch never went down. Chasing 175, the team were all out for 93. Shahid Afridi combined with Saeed Ajmal proved an unorthdox spin duo, too hot to handle. Akmal was adjudged the man of the match for his 41 runs and 4 stumps.

Tilakratne Dilshan
In an other match Sri Lanka had thrashed the once world champions Australia’s dreams of qualifying for the super eight. Australia placed in the group of death where any one of the biggies including West Indies, Srilanka had to head back home. The unlucky being Aussies this time, who have faced humiliating defeats against both its opponents. Srilanka won the toss and put the aussies into bat. They managed to bundle out australia for a chasable 159. Srilanka with Dilshan and Sangakara scoring fifties made the chase a simple affair.
