RC Bangalore smashes the dreams of KKR
Royal Challengers Bangalore, smashed the dreams of Kolkata Knight Riders, winning by 6 wickets at Centurion on 12th May, 2009. Through this match, all I can say is, KKR is a history now, and people rarely remember the existence of team.
Coming on to the match, KKR was first to bat, and they made a superb score of 174, after a fall of just 4 wickets. Captain Berndon Mc Cullum finally proved himself, by contributing 84* runs (10 fours and 2 sixes) of 64 balls. Blachandra Akhil took the wicket of David Hussey who contributed 43 runs of 27 balls. After the first innings Berndon Mc Cullum was pretty sure of winning the match, situation was like KKR had another chance of winning, but in vain.

Ross Taylor
Timely return of Ross Taylor smashed the hopes of KKR, he was the only person who was responsible for the winning of RC Bangalore. JD Ryder contributed 22 runs and JH Kallis, 32 runs. Kartik took 2 wickets. Score was 74 runs off 3 wickets, after 10.6 overs. And then came the RC Bangalore, Ross Taylor, who proved to be a booster for the team, and contributed an excellent score of 81* runs (7 fours and 5 sixes) off just 33 balls.
Till the end, the match was in the hands of KKR, RC Bangalore needed 55 off 30 balls. But KKR couldn’t stop Ross Taylor and he smacked KKR by his performance.
RC Bangalore finally made a win in just 19.2 over.
KKR tried their best, but were underdogs. Sometimes “it doesn’t matter how hard you try”, what matters is winning, and this implements to KKR, who tried but lost. Now KKR has only chance of coming on top four in points table and nothing more than that. What more left about KKR, SRK, like forgot his team, and the official website is rarely updated or visited.
Whereas RC Bangalore undoubtedly proved their Royalty and was in top four in points table after the 41st match, but still has a negative run rate of -0.37. RC Bangalore has 11 points in hand, equivalent to Punjab, Rajasthan and Mumbai, so a tough competition ahead for the team.
Player of the Match: Undoubtedly it was Ross Taylor (RC Bangalore)
