Requiring just 168 to win Pakistan started the fourth day of the first test against Sri Lanka with over night score of 71-2 and Mohammad Yousuf who got a century in the first innings at one end ,many believed it was just a matter of time before Pakistan took lead in the three match series against Sri Lanka. But Lankan bowlers had other plans and sent the Pakistani batting lineup packing for just 117 pulling the match from the jaws of defeat. Bowlers Thushara and Rangana Herath troubled the visitors by puting the ball in the right areas.Especially the left arm slow blower Rangana Herath, who was in the team for the injured Muralitharan spinned his way to brilliant figures of four for 15 from 11.3 overs.

Agreed more lost than won

Should be more like “Pakistan pull a stunner”. Losing 8 wickets for 46 runs is simply a case of collective failure. I applaud the Sri Lankans, but this was more lost than won.
