Banglore won the toss and chose to field,McCullum along with Ganguly started the innings for Kolkata.Asusual it was the worst starts which are regularly given by them,Ganguly who was hammered with a bouncer earlier went on to reach the length delivery and gave a simple catch to the keeper Boucher.Vinay kumar striked early by removing 2 wickets in quick succession.David Hussey joined his captain to held the innings and gave a good foundation.Hussey in special was outstanding with his trademark shots.The patnership went on until Akhil removed Hussey who tried to score a big shot.Meanwhile McCullum placed his innings,he along with Mathews eyed a huge score.Kumble managed to pick up Mathews.Kolkata scored a massive score of 173,thanks to the contribution of McCullum who scored 84.

Kolkata had the target to defend.Ryder and Kallis from Challengers opened the innings,both gave a decent start and scored runs at a good pace.The 50 runs patnership was held for the 1st wicket.Banglore lost their way suddenly by loosing 3 quick wickets of Ryder,Kallis and Uttappa in the span of 15 runs.Murali Kartik and Agarkar bowled well and had crucial breaks for Kolkata.The Wall Dravid along with Taylor helped Challengers to go past 100 run mark.Taylor started the innings in an aggressive manner and scored his 50 of 24 balls.Though Dravid perished Taylor continued his normal game with his partner Boucher. Last 3 overs required 40 runs and the pair managed to grab them with ease,partnership of 50 was done in 23 balls and this helped them to snatch a thrilling victory over Kolkata.Taylor was unbeaten on 81 of just 33 balls with 7 fours and 5 massive sixes.
