Story of the Week:
IPL Extravaganza Continues…
It’s an end to the days of desperation for the start of IPL-2. Finally, the mega commercial Cricket Festival spanning for 39 days kicked off amid much fanfare on 18th of April. The amount of hype, publicity and action was immeasurable. It was a treat to watch for all the cricket fans across the globe as Sachin and Jayasuriya, two of the most devastating batsmen in the international cricket for 20 years now, came to open the first innings of IPL-2.
With the first ball being bowled, the organizers of the IPL breathed a sigh of relief. They have been working round the clock for past 22 days on war footing to conduct the event without any hitches. The venue was decided hardly 3 weeks before the tournament and it was indeed a commendable effort by the support staff in putting everything in place. Ninety percent of tickets for all the matches and Hundred percent of tickets for matches on weekends were sold out. Truly, IPL-2 has conquered new frontiers.
Special notes to all the Indian Cricket Fans, though we missed out on watching the Biggest Cricketing Festival live in the stadium, do not miss them on television at primetime everyday.
