Story of the Week:
The big story of the week is announcement of Wisden’s dream test XI. Surprisingly it has five Indians and rather strangely only two Australians. The Wisden’s XI has conventionally been Australia centric, but this year it saw a potential shift in its balance of power. Though the reasons behind selection of five Indians out of eleven has raised a few eyebrows, but it also reflected India’s rise as a test team conquering new frontiers throughout the season. Wisden considered as the encyclopedia of cricket, provides its dream test team every year based on the performances in the previous season. Also, Virender Sehwag was named the leading cricketer in the world for his blitzkrieg batting display in last twelve months. The team:
- V. Sehwag (India)

- **G.C. Smith (South Africa)
- R.T. Ponting (Australia)
- S.R. Tendulkar (India)
- K. P. Pietersen (England)
- S. Chanderpaul (West Indies)
- *^M.S. Dhoni (India)
- Harbjahan Singh (India)
- M. G. Johnson (Australia)
- D. W. Steyn (South Africa)
- Zaheer Khan (India)
* — Captain
** — Vice Captain
^ — Wicket Keeper
